One Handsome Guy.

I have gotten so very behind with postings!...

I photographed Hayden's senior portraits a little over a month ago and he was such a great subject! Hayden is oldest of five siblings, and just so happens to be my cousin! Knowing and watching Hayden from diapers to driver's licenses has been crazy to see! Especially how fast it happened. Of course, thinking of it that way just makes me feel old...

Hayden and I had been talking about me taking his senior portraits for quite some time and I was so excited when we fit it in his very busy schedule--even his summer vacation was packed with lacrosse practice and games, working, trips to their family's lake property and of course the much needed time with friends. But finally we were able to schedule the day. Hayden had also had the pleasure of joining us for Taylor's (see Team Taylor! post) senior portraits so he got a good feeling of what he was in for. He also had a taste of what it was like to be a photographer's assistant as I used him to hold the reflectors and carry my camera bag! (He did a great job.)

Although Hayden didn't have a full day session, we still took lots of time to capture a variety of images. Hayden was very comfortable in front of the camera and it made it so easy to just keep photographing! Hayden's genes do come with a two handfuls of modeling skills, and looks, since both of parents were in modeling and I think that Hayden definitely inherited some of both! Hayden is a great student, great athlete and has turned into an awesome kid! (I will never be able to call him an adult...)

It was such a fun day and it was quite difficult choosing my favorites! Between his bright green eyes, wavy hair and great smile how could it not be! Here are some of my favorites from the day.

Team Taylor!

It was so great photographing Taylor for her senior pictures! We had an all day photo session that included an "in studio" session in her living room in Vadnais Heights, then a drive to Minnehaha Falls in Minneapolis followed by a stop in St. Paul, a lunch break, and then a stop at Gervais Lake to splash around a bit... and then back to her backyard! And just for fun, we went to downtown St. Paul around sunset to take a few more photos!

Taylor loves pictures ( I saw her bedroom--every inch is covered with photos!) so we wanted to make sure that she had lots of great images. She put a lot of time into picking out her outfits which definitely showed her personality and fashion sense! And not only is Taylor well versed with style but she also plays hockey and lacrosse-- how awesome is that! Between capturing her kick-ass attitude with her sports gear and her softer side of paisley dresses and cowboy boots the amount of great images was quite significant, which is always wonderful!

I  had such a wonderful day with Taylor and her mom. Her mom even got a taste at being a photographer's assistant by holding the diffuser and reflector for some shots! Taylor really knew how to work her best pout and show her best smile on cue. She was very relaxed and willing throughout our whole day. Here are just a FEW of my favorite images from the day. Enjoy!

Blue Eyed Beauty!

Beautiful Addie is three years old! Addison is the daughter of good friends of mine, Erik and McKenna. Addie's dad Erik, is actually a groomsmen in my wedding next year. I was so excited when McKenna asked me to take Addie's three year portraits.

We started the morning off with Addison showing me around her backyard. She was comfortable in front of the camera right away... a little bird told me she was a bit of a ham, which of course I love! We played some fun games of course to keep that smiling face interested! With some peek-a-boo and silly faces, Addison kept her smiles going all morning. After the backyard adventures, Addie and McKenna showed me a beautiful park in Edina, which of course, the name is escaping me now... but it was gorgeous and let Addie run and climb!

Addison really did so wonderfully all morning. Plus, I am convinced that Addie is a model at heart! I found out that her mood was less than happy right before I came over and then again right after! She turned on the charm when it was her time in front of the camera--very professional!

Addie's blue eyes and blond hair made for a wonderful Sunday morning session! Here are some of my favorites from the session. McKenna, thank you so much for having me photograph Addison's portraits--it was such a pleasure!

Cute, Cute Sisters

I am very behind on my blog! I have had so many session just in the past two weeks that I haven't gotten the chance to update!

This session was very special for me since I remember photographing Lyiah, now two years old, when she could barely hold her eyes open! Her mom and dad came in with this sweet, sweet baby and it was one of my favorite, and one of my first, sessions! And then, once Gaushia (mom) was pregnant with their second, I had the pleasure of photographing her maternity session as well. (Also producing some of my favorite images!)

I also photographed Nyomie, now 6 months, for her newborn photos; I will never forget how sweet Lyiah was with her new sister with kisses on the forehead and holding her tiny hand. And has this most recent session shows, not much has changed! They are still sweet and loving sisters.

So, between newborn sessions, milestone sessions, maternity sessions and family sessions I have watched these girls grow through the camera lens! I am so happy to continue photographing them outside of the studio. I absolutely LOVE being able to photograph each milestone and watching these girls grow.

The morning was perfect for a 'day-in-the-park' type of session. We met in front of the Como Conservatory and let Lyiah lead the way. We worked in some high-fives and funny faces to open her up a bit; by the middle of the session Lyiah, who was a little timid at first without mom by her side, walked with me hand-in-hand up a hill while mom and dad changed her little sister at the bottom of the hill. It was so sweet.

Nyomie is such a cute baby! She did very well sitting up all on her own and gave such lovely happy expressions. Her face was just so pudgy and sweet, I couldn't get enough! Both girls are so beautiful! Here are some of my favorite images from the day! I truly hope to continue photographing both girls in the future!

Sisterly Love

Another home session with one of our favorite clients! Brynn, Abbie and Maddie do such a wonderful job in front of the camera and now, their new puppy Jojo adds to their adorable pictures. The occasion for this session included a one year birthday, a four year birthday and all three sisters with their new puppy!

These girls are always a lot of fun and this time was no exception. It was great to be able to go outside with them, they have a fantastic backyard! Can't wait for this summer for another session with these girls.

Here are some favorites!

Family Time

My aunt and uncle asked me to take some family shots for them. It was great! It is usually harder to photograph people that you know but this went wonderfully. My cousins, Jason and Matthew, are all grown up... as much as two teenage boys can be. They definitely knew how to make each other laugh. I really enjoyed photographing family members for the first time and I hope to do more someday! The sun went down a little earlier than anticipated but we were still able to get some fun indoor shots! Here are some of my favorites.
