Team Taylor!

It was so great photographing Taylor for her senior pictures! We had an all day photo session that included an "in studio" session in her living room in Vadnais Heights, then a drive to Minnehaha Falls in Minneapolis followed by a stop in St. Paul, a lunch break, and then a stop at Gervais Lake to splash around a bit... and then back to her backyard! And just for fun, we went to downtown St. Paul around sunset to take a few more photos!

Taylor loves pictures ( I saw her bedroom--every inch is covered with photos!) so we wanted to make sure that she had lots of great images. She put a lot of time into picking out her outfits which definitely showed her personality and fashion sense! And not only is Taylor well versed with style but she also plays hockey and lacrosse-- how awesome is that! Between capturing her kick-ass attitude with her sports gear and her softer side of paisley dresses and cowboy boots the amount of great images was quite significant, which is always wonderful!

I  had such a wonderful day with Taylor and her mom. Her mom even got a taste at being a photographer's assistant by holding the diffuser and reflector for some shots! Taylor really knew how to work her best pout and show her best smile on cue. She was very relaxed and willing throughout our whole day. Here are just a FEW of my favorite images from the day. Enjoy!

Blue Eyed Beauty!

Beautiful Addie is three years old! Addison is the daughter of good friends of mine, Erik and McKenna. Addie's dad Erik, is actually a groomsmen in my wedding next year. I was so excited when McKenna asked me to take Addie's three year portraits.

We started the morning off with Addison showing me around her backyard. She was comfortable in front of the camera right away... a little bird told me she was a bit of a ham, which of course I love! We played some fun games of course to keep that smiling face interested! With some peek-a-boo and silly faces, Addison kept her smiles going all morning. After the backyard adventures, Addie and McKenna showed me a beautiful park in Edina, which of course, the name is escaping me now... but it was gorgeous and let Addie run and climb!

Addison really did so wonderfully all morning. Plus, I am convinced that Addie is a model at heart! I found out that her mood was less than happy right before I came over and then again right after! She turned on the charm when it was her time in front of the camera--very professional!

Addie's blue eyes and blond hair made for a wonderful Sunday morning session! Here are some of my favorites from the session. McKenna, thank you so much for having me photograph Addison's portraits--it was such a pleasure!

Cute, Cute Sisters

I am very behind on my blog! I have had so many session just in the past two weeks that I haven't gotten the chance to update!

This session was very special for me since I remember photographing Lyiah, now two years old, when she could barely hold her eyes open! Her mom and dad came in with this sweet, sweet baby and it was one of my favorite, and one of my first, sessions! And then, once Gaushia (mom) was pregnant with their second, I had the pleasure of photographing her maternity session as well. (Also producing some of my favorite images!)

I also photographed Nyomie, now 6 months, for her newborn photos; I will never forget how sweet Lyiah was with her new sister with kisses on the forehead and holding her tiny hand. And has this most recent session shows, not much has changed! They are still sweet and loving sisters.

So, between newborn sessions, milestone sessions, maternity sessions and family sessions I have watched these girls grow through the camera lens! I am so happy to continue photographing them outside of the studio. I absolutely LOVE being able to photograph each milestone and watching these girls grow.

The morning was perfect for a 'day-in-the-park' type of session. We met in front of the Como Conservatory and let Lyiah lead the way. We worked in some high-fives and funny faces to open her up a bit; by the middle of the session Lyiah, who was a little timid at first without mom by her side, walked with me hand-in-hand up a hill while mom and dad changed her little sister at the bottom of the hill. It was so sweet.

Nyomie is such a cute baby! She did very well sitting up all on her own and gave such lovely happy expressions. Her face was just so pudgy and sweet, I couldn't get enough! Both girls are so beautiful! Here are some of my favorite images from the day! I truly hope to continue photographing both girls in the future!
